365 days, 365 photos – Impressions of life in Sanford, Florida.
This project was inspired by another 365 challenge that I came across. Check it out, it’s really interesting and you might get inspired, too ;o)
So here’s basically what I will do:
- Take a picture a day
- Post pictures at least 3 times a week
- Each picture will have its own blog entry (so on some days there might be several new pictures and blog entries, but be assured they are all taken on different days
- The pictures will mainly show scenes, objects and people in Sanford, Florida, but on some days I might be on an excursion to other areas in Central Florida, Florida, or the World ;o) Can’t promise anything but the next year might take me to Colombia, Panama, Germany, Italy and France. I might compare these places to Sanford though to keep the images in context.
- Pictures will be taken either with my beloved Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (but please remember, I am only a beginner, and despite my background in Graphic Design and a photography class I took at Crealde, I am still learning and improving every day), my Casio Exilim (shoots wide angle and also Videos, so watch out for those extras), and my iphone (what did we all do before there were iphones? I can’t even tell…thanks to Apple’s miraculous technology, I will be able to post to this blog live from the road…as real estate agent I am out and about a lot so this comes in very handy).
So let’s take on this year, starting on September 18, 2008, and ending it on September 17, 2009.
Hope you enjoy my pics and feel free to post comments anytime!

Day 184 (March 20)
So it is officially halftime! Wow, what an experience! I have to say this project is getting tougher all the time because the project has grwon from just taking a picture of anything in my life to actually providing useful information about the area and local businesses. That is the harder part. Taking a picture a day has almost become a habit for me by now. If at times my posts are not as informative as on other days, I hope you can all forgive me, it is merely out of a lack of time. That is also why you might not see me posting every day but rather once a week.
Nevertheless, I am still on with my challenge and I can already say that this blog will exist way beyond the originally planned 365 Days. I have re-discovered my passion for writing and hope to improve my skills every day!

What an exciting challenge!
I work at the Central Florida Zoo, and I’d like to encourage you to visit our webpage and take note of this year’s scheduled events. It would be wonderful to see pictures of these events posted in your journal!

Thanks for your post! I checked out your site and in addition to the Zoo Boo Bash I will definitely check out the Betcha Zoo Casino Night on November 15th. What a fun idea
I’ll certainly post pictures of those 2 events here and mention the Casino Night before that in the “Things to Do” category.

Hey I just want to say that I’m really enjoying your blog! I live in Sanford so it’s been great finding new things to do thanks to your writing. This past Wednesday we even went to the Black Swan for trivia night with some friends and had a great time, didn’t even know about that until reading your blog!
Please keep it up!

I had a great time at the Alive After 5 celebration last night in Sanford. The theme was Chili Cook off and you could certaininly smell the chili in the cool night air. The moon was almost full, the bands were great, especially the band that plays outside the Blues Alley. I would also like to mention that the Nervous Turkey’s are playing at the Blues Alley on Friday January 9th and Saturday the 10th – they are awesome and a unique blues band to experience.

I just stumbled upon your site and I think this is a great idea!! My husband and I live in the downtown area of Sanford. We really love it and want to see Sanford reach it’s full potential and are trying to become more involved in the community and city government. Keep up the great work!

I happened to stumble on your site and I was inspired by what I read. I too live in Sanford and although I am about 4 miles from DownTown I often travel to the library or to just walk the rivierwalk. What a beautiful little town and the history can keep a person entertained for hours. Thank you for shareing our space with the worldwideweb.
